Where I Stand On The
Issues
Focused on the issues that matter to District 33

Education is Fundamental
While I ultimately believe this will need to be tackled at a federal level I hope to push Minnesota in the direction of making sure everyone of it’s citizens has healthcare. I believe we need to expand coverages and make it easier to enroll in a public option. To allow businesses to offer coverage through the state. When we create a larger pool this is the best way to drive down costs. It reduces risks, gives us greater bargaining power and streamlines coverage to our hospitals.

Constitutional Rights matter
WE THE PEOPLE. Three simple words that matter so much. This guarantees that ALL PEOPLE have the rights established in the constitution and that these rights of the people are not infringed upon. We cannot stand idly by when these rights are violated. We can reaffirm the commitment to the people at the local, state and federal level. Rights should not be disregarded when people find them inconvenient for their political agenda and we need people that will stand for these rights and address grievances of the people.

Our tax dollars coming back to us
The metro area representation tends to absorb all of our tax dollar base with projects. Even when I have been in support of legislation brought by either side of the aisle it seems all to often greater Minnesota is forgotten. We need someone who will hold their party to account and demand that we get equal share of state spending. Someone willing to reach across the aisle to support legislation that has benefits for the constituents.

Clean Air, Clean Water
I grew up a “country boy” I love the beauty of nature. I enjoy hunting and fishing in some of the best land any state could hope for. I want that for future generations. This means I want to make sure to appropriately apply environmental protections that don’t go to far. Ensure there are large swaths of public land available for hunting. Keeping our lakes healthy and abundant. Maintaining our beautiful state parks and public protected areas.

Voices heard
I want to be a conduit for the people. Someone who brings the voices of greater Minnesota to the floor when policy and legislation is passed. Not be someone who sits back and is “asleep at the wheel”. We need someone who is active and engaged with the rest of the legislature and not just paying lip service when the can manage to keep their eyes open in committees.

Healthcare Access
While I ultimately believe this will need to be tackled at a federal level I hope to push Minnesota in the direction of making sure everyone of it’s citizens has healthcare.
